Research Assistant (carrying the job title of “Programme Officer”) – Business Education for Social Good (BESGO) Programme, CUHK Business School
The Business Education for Social Good (BESGO) Programme at CUHK Business School seeks a motivated and detail-oriented candidate for the position of Programme Officer. The appointee will play a critical role in pedagogical research initiatives, supporting experiential learning activities, developing teaching materials, and coordinating impactful initiatives that foster sustainability and social responsibility among students.
The appointee will be responsible for:
(a) coordinating experiential learning activities such as workshops, study tours, and bootcamps, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders;
(b) providing learning support for student-athletes under the Student-Athlete Learning Support and Admission (SALSA) scheme;
(c) managing social media platforms and preparing promotional materials, such as posters, videos, and newsletters;
(d) assisting in the preparation of research proposals and pedagogical teaching materials;
(e) co-organizing conferences and events related to sustainability and social innovation;
(f) conducting surveys and analyzing data to assess the effectiveness of learning initiatives;
(g) liaising with international university partners, NGOs, and social enterprises for programme delivery;
(h) handling general administrative duties, inquiries, and secretarial support; and
(i) performing other duties as assigned.
Applicants should have:
(i) a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field;
(ii) a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua);
(iii) at least 2 years of post-qualification administrative or project management experience;
(iv) proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and social media platforms;
(v) strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills;
(vi) the ability to work independently, effectively, and as part of a team; and
(vii) a passion for sustainability, social innovation, and experiential learning.
Preferred qualifications include:
(I). Knowledge of sustainability, ESG, and social innovation concepts;
(II). Experience with pedagogical research and the development of teaching materials;
(III). Familiarity with survey design and data analysis tools;
(IV). Prior experience in higher education or working with NGOs and social enterprises.
Appointment and Application
The appointment will initially be made on a 1-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
